1. Introduction
Welcome to the Summer 2005 issue of AIDA Mail.
2005 marks AIDA's 45th Anniversary and the National Chapters have planned a number of events to mark this occasion.
The German National Chapter hosted a colloquium in May and AIDA Presidential Council and Working Party meetings were arranged to coincide with it. The Presidential Council and Reinsurance Working Party's meetings are reported in this issue. Further contributions from the Reinsurance Working Party include notice of the publication of three more Reports, plus a summary of AIDA’s Honorary President, John Butler's overview of his experience and time spent working in the London reinsurance market.
News from the National Chapters section includes notices of forthcoming conferences, meetings and announcements, and provides a link to the first newsletter from the recently formed Portuguese section. The legal developments section provides an informative overview of some of the recent developments in UK and European insurance law. This issue also includes a reminder of the AIDA Prize for Scientific Investigation, the deadline for which is March 2006.
Once again, we remind you that anyone is welcome to submit relevant contributions to future issues of AIDA Mail. Details of how to do so can be found in the final section of this issue.
