Welcome to the website of the International Association of Insurance Law (AIDA).

AIDA was formed in 1960 for the purpose of promoting and developing, at an international level, collaboration between its members with a view to increasing the study and knowledge of international and national insurance law and related matters.

The AIDA website contains a News section which provides information about forthcoming international colloquia, national congresses and other news about the activities of AIDA and its National Chapters. The current issue of AIDA Mail, AIDA’s quarterly newsletter, and an archive of all previous issues can be found in the AIDA Mail section. AIDA Mail reports on the activities of AIDA’s Working Parties and National Chapters, provides details of forthcoming events, and contains legal updates on insurance law developments from around the world. Notices are periodically issued by the President of AIDA and these can be viewed in the Presidential Communications section. Information regarding the activities of AIDA’s Working Parties, contact details and website links to the National Chapters, can also be found on this website.

AIDA reaches out to other organisations with similar interests in insurance law and related matters.  In this respect AIDA, particularly through the regional grouping of AIDA Europe, has reached out to the FDCC and in the spirit of such cooperation encourages AIDA members to attend the FDCC Summer 2010 Meeting to be held in Munich in July 2010 - see below:

• The Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel is an international legal organization founded in the United States in 1936. The mission of the FDCC is to further the principles of knowledge, justice and fellowship amongst its members, the legal profession and the business community.
• The FDCC has approximately 1,400 US and international members consisting of defense attorneys, corporate counsel and industry representatives.
• The Federation will be holding its Annual Meeting at the Westin Grande Arabella in Munich Germany from Saturday, July 24 - Saturday, July 31, 2010. This meeting is the inaugural meeting for the FDCC in continental Europe and 300 to 350 members plus guests will account for a total attendance of 600 to 750 people.
• Members of the European Corporate Lawyers Association will be participating in this meeting and the continuing legal education theme is Supreme Client Satisfaction. Plenary topics include: Turbo Charge Case Efficiency for Supreme Client Satisfaction; Government Regulation of Industry in a Global Economic Crisis; Expectations of Carriers in International Litigation; and, Internet Liability... from a US and International Perspective.
• This meeting represents and excellent opportunity for obtaining an excellent perspective on US and International Jurisprudence while developing key contacts with lawyers, corporate counsel and industry representatives from around the world. Munich mix of chic sophistication and old world charm promises to be an outstanding venue for this summer meeting.
