Romania
National Colloquium on Insurance
Law organized by the ADAR in Bucharest, Romania, on 9-12 September
2003
The Romanian National Chapter, the Romanian Insurance
Law Association - ADAR, is organizing a National Colloquium on Insurance
Law to take place in Bucharest on 9-12 September 2003, at the Hotel
Marriott.
The Colloquium will dedicate a one day plenary session
to the European Insurance Regulations and the ways they can be adopted
by the Romanian Insurance law. The second day of the Colloquium
will be dedicated to interactive debates in specialized workshops
on insurance law i.e. insurance of the person including private
pensions schemes and third party liability motor insurance. The
Colloquium will also look at arbitration in the context of insurance,
including differing national experiences.

Hungary
VIII AIDA Insurance Colloquium
Advance notice is given of the VIII AIDA Insurance
Colloquium which will take place in Budapest on the 25-27 November
2004. The overall theme of the Colloquium will be "Community
law - National law - Insurance". Invitations and further information
will be sent to all AIDA Chapters in due course.
Insurance Organisations and
Insurance Activity
The Hungarian Parliament passed a new Act on Insurance
Organisations and Insurance Activity, which conforms completely
with EU law, as Hungary will enter the EU on the 1st of May 2004.
The Act also includes provisions concerning insurance companies
and intermediaries. The Hungarian insurance contract law remains
a part of the Civil Code.
